| This is the first in
what I hope is a new series of resin suspension units
from OKB Grigorov. Beginning with the earliest design,
the D37892 (the one with the return roller wheel centered
above the wheel bracket). The resin casting is some of
the best I've seen, with extraordinarily crisp details.
From the looks of the parts breakdown, we won't be able
to articulate the wheels for depicting a tank traversing
over uneven terrain, at least not without some surgery,
but I'm sure it can be done. Note that no wheels are
included, which is not surprising considering the number
of choices for wheel style that OKB already markets. But
what does surprise me is that there are no instructions.
I'm hoping that once I remove all the parts from their
casting plugs and clean them up, the assembly should be
obvious. (Note: there are photographs of the completed
parts on OKB's website that illustrate pretty well how
these go together. But curiously, there is no mention of
the photoetched parts shown in the above scan...?) It is not stated that these are designed for a specific kit, but from the looks of it, they should fit almost any Sherman on the market, perhaps with a little bit of adjustment to the kit's hull to ensure alignment with the kit's sprocket and idler wheels. |
